In News from The Lorimer Workshop

We just finished two extraordinary desks, created from two 19th century board shears. We were able to salvage the original beautifully worn table top from the J. Jaques & Sons Co. board shear. We added wooden shelves in the scrap traps of both tables. Each desk has a distinct silhouette. The commitment to beautiful aesthetics in 19th C manufacturing equipment is remarkable. Board Shears were the workhorses of the 19th C used in the manufacturing of boxes, books and paper goods. Functional ones are still used by contemporary bookbinders and crafts people today.
